Jerusalem, Israel - As civilian casualties mount in Syria, Israel’s northeastern neighbor, and concerns over militant groups operating in the Sinai trouble governments both in Cairo and Jerusalem, UPF’s Middle East Peace Initiative (MEPI) took another step forward with the August 26-28 interfaith seminar on the topic “Religion and Peace in the Middle East: the Significance of Interfaith Cooperation.”

Jerusalem, Israel - During the last two weeks of July 2012, some 15 young leaders from around the world came to Israel and Palestine for advanced leadership training. The program was designed to allow the young leaders to experience the history and religious background of the Holy Land and the diversity of its cultures and ethnicities as well as grasp the complexity of the political situation.

Daliet el Carmel, Israel - UPF-Israel honored Israeli government workers who have been promoting interfaith activities during the past four years after attending UPF's International Leadership Conferences and Middle East Peace Initiative events. The event commemorated the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week and promoted the idea of an interreligious council at the UN as well as an interfaith peace council in Israel.
