Buenos Aires, Argentina – More than 180 people joined a UPF-Argentina meeting on April 17, 2024, at which fourteen new ambassadors for peace were appointed. The event took place at the Golden Hall of the Buenos Aires City Legislature.
Mr. Martín César, general director of citizen services of the Legislature, gave the welcoming remarks, followed by opening remarks from the two MCs, Ms. Luba Opeka and Mr. Christian Oreb. Both are ambassadors for peace, who serve as public relations director and advisor to UPF-Argentina, respectively.
The program began with an introductory video about UPF. Mr. Miguel Werner, president of UPF-Argentina, gave a presentation on the Principles of Peace.
Dr. Sung-Jong Seo, president of UPF-Southern Cone, presented ambassador for peace certificates to the fourteen recipients, who represented the fields of education, journalism, social services, the arts, and religion.
Prof. Julio Nardini, representing the ambassadors for peace of Argentina, gave congratulatory remarks and words of encouragement to the new appointees. Ms. Alba Luz Tangarife and Ms. Rosa Holgado presented each recipient with the 2024 Leadership and Teamwork Guidebook and a UPF pin.
The program concluded with a performance by the Florencio Varela Municipal Vocational Choir, led by Mr. Nicolás Argento.
