Biel/Bienne, Switzerland—A seminar on UPF Peace Principles was held for Swiss Ambassadors for Peace simultaneously in two Swiss cities and online.
Organized jointly by the Swiss chapters of UPF and Youth and Students for Peace (YSP), an affiliated organization, the one-day program took place on August 19, 2023. It was the 16th hybrid program held since 2020.
Of the 80 registered participants, 12 were present in the Geneva UPF office, and three were in Biel/Bienne. The rest of the participants joined online from 20 locations around the world, including French Polynesia and Africa.
The event concluded with the on-site appointment of seven new Ambassadors for Peace. Moreover, 15 of the online participants have received their certificates, as they sent in answers to the 33 questions of the program.
The participants expressed appreciation for the lectures given by Chantal Chételat Komagata, the UPF coordinator for Central Europe, and the many opportunities to reflect on the questions and to discuss in small groups.
They also were grateful for UPF volunteers Mélanie Komagata, who formed French- and English-speaking online breakout groups, and Thomas Pritty, who interpreted the program between French and English.
Some Ambassadors for Peace have attended the training program several times to make sure that they understand the content and feel confident to transmit it to others, as they can use the whole PowerPoint with notes. Some have recommended the course to new people. The Ambassadors for Peace network is expanding significantly without borders, contributing to the human family united with God through universal principles.
