Krujë, Albania – On the occasion of the International Day of Families, on May 15, 2024, UPF-Albania and the Krujë Peace Council organized an activity on the theme "Family, the School of Love and Peace" in Bubq District.
The new hall of the cultural center in Bubq was filled with over 150 people, who had come from all over the area, and created a wonderful mix of three generations – children, adults and grandparents. In particular, the participation of many students and young people added rich color to the event.
The activity was moderated by Mrs. Manjola Vasmatics, president of the Family Federation for World Peace Albania, an affiliated organization. She thanked everyone for their participation in this very significant event, and stressed that placing the family as a priority is a prerequisite for sustainable development, strengthening society and the nation.
The opening speech was given by Mr. Bujar Topçiu, chairman of the Krujë Peace Council, who had come together with the vice president, Dr. Durim Kulli, and several ambassadors for peace. The participants were also greeted by the local member of Parliament, Mr. Denis Deliu, the administrator of Bubq District, Mr. Agron Karaj.
High school students were represented in the program by a talented graduate, who recited a poem for peace from the great saint, Mother Teresa. Another student proudly expressed his great love and gratitude for his family. Next, Mr. Gani Rroshi, secretary general of UPF-Albania, gave an explanation of the International Day of Families, and a presentation on UPF’s activities and principles of peace.
Finally, ten local figures who had made special contributions to the area were honored as ambassadors for peace.
