Korolevo, Belarus—The Belarus chapters of UPF and its affiliated organization Family Federation for World Peace and Unification jointly held an International Day of Peace commemoration that included a Peace Road event.
The central focus of the program, held on September 24, was "Peace Road 2023: The Path to Peace and Creativity."
A talk on the United Nations’ International Day of Peace led into an exploration of the numerous international peacemaking initiatives led by UPF founders Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon.
In 1981, they proposed the ambitious International Peace Highway project, envisioning the connection of Korea to Japan through an underwater tunnel and extending it through the Bering Strait to connect Russia and North America. These international highways would unite nations much like the circulatory system of our interconnected world.
With friendly applause as their backdrop, cyclists and runners of varying ages formed teams and embarked on the Peace Road part of the celebration, participating in unity-promoting activities along their chosen routes.
As the program ended, participants were honored with medals. They then shared a meal and pleasant conversations with friends, fostering the spirit of peace and unity that "Peace Road 2023" and the Universal Peace Federation hold dear.
