Beirut, Lebanon – An energetic group of young people gathered to clean up trash in the area along Beirut’s Rauche Seafront on Saturday, July 27, 2024. The activity was organized by UPF-Lebanon, together with the Family Federation and Youth and Students for Peace, as part of the worldwide Peace Road 2024 project.
Welcoming remarks were given by YSP Lebanon Representative Ms. Miki Morita, UPF-Lebanon President Mr. Thomas Schellen, and FFWPU-Lebanon President, Mr. Jongin Park. Then, everyone proceeded to clean up the beautiful seafront area, which was littered with unsightly trash.
The organizers reached out to many young people to join this event, and participants came from different religious and cultural backgrounds. Seeing the young people working hard to clean up the seafront, several bystanders were inspired to join in. Some even took away bags of garbage on their motorbikes. The event demonstrated how people can join together harmoniously for the sake of the greater good, regardless of cultural differences.
Following their hard work, participants were treated with traditional Lebanese sandwiches. It was truly inspiring to see all the young people joining together for this Peace Road event with so much sincerity and dedication.
